India’s Tour of England 2025, Press Conference Highlights: India’s new Test captain Shubman Gill addressed the media ahead of the team’s departure for England. India’s head coach Gautam Gambhir was also present there in the press conference. This was the first media addressing for Gill as Indian skipper in the format. He said that there will be “no different pressure” in the absence of veteran players Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, who retired from the Test format last month. Meanwhile, India head coach Gambhir was quite vocal while commenting on the stampede that took place during Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s trophy celebration at home. “We shouldn’t have road shows, lives of peoples are more important,” said Gambhir. India are set to face England in a five-match Test series, starting June 20. It will also see the Gill-led side beginning its campaign in the World Test Championship 2025-27.
