The second phase of voter roll revisions will be held in 12 states and union territories and will commence after the Assembly election in Bihar next month, the Election Commission said Monday evening.
The first phase was the revision of voter rolls for the Bihar election, an exercise that triggered controversy and protests by the opposition, which questioned the timing of SIR, or special intensive revision. The Bihar exercise, the EC said today, was successfully held with zero appeals.
