Bihar Assembly Elections 2025: The first phase of the Bihar assembly polls saw several senior political figures cast their votes early on Thursday. Among the early voters were RJD leader and INDIA bloc Chief Minister candidate Tejashwi Yadav, who voted in Patna alongside his family, including RJD supremo Lalu Prasad.
Other prominent voters included Union minister Giriraj Singh and Bihar
Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha, who cast their ballots in Lakhisarai, as well as Union minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh ‘Lalan’ in Patna.
The elections are being fought on planks ranging from development to law and order, pitting Nitish Kumar’s governance record against Tejashwi Yadav’s social justice push.
Seats voting in the first phase of the 2025 Bihar Assembly election recorded 60.13 per cent voter turnout (provisional till 5 pm), which is already 4.45 per cent more than the first phase of the 2020 election and 2.84 per cent more than the overall figure from that poll.
