Stock Market Highlights, October 14, 2026: The Indian stock market benchmark equity indices ended lower on Wednesday, weighed down by selling in pharma and financial stocks.
The Sensex declined 251.89 points, or 0.34%, to close at 72,781.89, while the Nifty 50 settled 99.25 points, or 0.44%, lower at 22,622.70. The Bank Nifty index ended at 55,316.00, down by 165.05 points, or 0.30%.
Broader markets also ended lower, with the Nifty Smallcap 100 falling 0.32% and the Nifty Midcap 100 indices closing marginally lower.
Among sectors, losses were seen in Nifty Pharma, Nifty Metals, Nifty Auto, Nifty Realty and Nifty Private Bank indices, while Nifty IT, Nifty FMCG, Nifty Oil & Gas and Nifty Media indices ended in the green.
