R-Truth suffered a legitimate injury during WWE SmackDown on October 16, and backstage sources confirmed that officials were worried about a possible concussion after he fell taking a dropkick. The referee threw up the X sign, so the match stopped right away and WWE doctors rushed to check on him. Truth was reportedly dazed when he got back backstage, and the medical team started a physical examination to find the extent of damage. According to reports, the injury was real, although the exact diagnosis is still unknown. The original match ending also changed.
R-Truth’s Injury Was Legitimate as WWE Doctors Checked Him Backstage
The first worry was a possible concussion after Truth fell during the dropkick. The situation was serious, and the medical team was checking him as fast as they could.
“He’s injured for sure. They were afraid about there being a concussion immediately after he fell. It’s bad scenes but should not be too serious. Whatever it is, they’re getting a physical checkup done asap right now. The injury was completely legitimate. He looked fully dazed.”
WWE officials were still figuring out what happened physically, and they didn’t have a confirmed diagnosis to work with. Seeing him dazed backstage made people more concerned, honestly.
No diagnosis is confirmed yet, so how bad the injury is and how long Truth might stay out of action is not known.

WWE Changed the Planned Ending as Fraxiom Came Out to Stop Damian Priest
The injury changed how the match ended too. The original ending was different, but the new finish reportedly kept a few parts of the planned angle.
Fightful reported that Damian Priest was supposed to win, and then Fraxiom would come out to make the save and stop him from continuing the post-match attack on his former partner. Fraxiom still showed up in that role after the match got stopped, and they helped keep Priest from attacking more.
So this change puts Priest’s ongoing feud in an awkward spot. He was looking to wrap up his rivalry with Truth and move to something new, but Truth’s injury may keep him away from WWE for some time.
Priest could turn his attention to Fraxiom in the meantime, but that is only a possibility and not a confirmed direction for his next storyline. Stay tuned for more updates.
